Flumen Institute. River dynamics and hydrology

Flumen is an Academic Research Institute affiliated with UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) and CIMNE (the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering). Flumen was founded by the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya) through the order ECO/305/2012 on October 3^rd  (DOGC October 17^th) and it is an interdisciplinary research group (SGR 1139).

The FLUMEN Institute is actively engaged in research activities, consulting, training and technology transfer in relation to hydrology and river dynamics . When first established in the 1980’s the experience of the Flumen Research Group was incorporated. These activities have been developed and perpetuated inside the framework provided by the  School of Civil Engineering of Barcelona, and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineerirng of UPC.
